One Relay of a Weekend

My husband took on the challenge of doing the Portland to Eugene relay this year. Last year we did it together and had a blast and planned to repeat, but since we've been going through the adoption process and the timing of placement with us is unknown we decided that one of us should drop out. I quickly volunteered. Our friend Blake was kind enough to take my place and word is they both rocked it! I got to hang out with Kristin (Blake's wife) and her kids and get caught up on a little girl time.

The kids were either fighting or laughing together, overall they seemed to have fun.

Here's the two superstars after they're first leg of running.
The girls wanted to run the very last stretch with their Papi.

The whole team at the finish line. They did awesome! It was wet and rainy and very cold, and my kids certainly weren't dressed for the rain. But the rain was a good excuse to do a little shopping at Trader Joes and get some of my favorite snacks. And of course a trip to Eugene wouldn't be complete without a trip to Chicken Bonz. Never disappointed!

After we got back on Saturday from the relay we worked on preparations for our Father's Day dinner here at our house. Jessie worked on finishing her and Tegan's Fathers Day gift for Tom. We decided to put a book together of all the things they love to do with him. Some pictures Jessie drew and others we printed off and they colored. They both worked hard to get it done.

Tom loved the finished product.
Sunday morning we whipped up some crepes for Tom per tradition and wolfed them down before our early morning church time (9:00). After church we had some of my family over for a nice BBQ. The best hubby and daddy of all grilled up some tasty burgers for all to enjoy.
